Founder and Director
Dr. Linda E. Méndez-Barrientos
Linda E. Méndez-Barrientos is an Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, where she leads the Environmental Justice & Policy Research Group (ejpr). She is the founder of s2e and aims to co-create a global network to monitor environmental injustices, facilitate environmental accountability and human rights protection, and increase the participation of diverse and historically excluded voices in the decisions that define new sustainable trajectories.

Dr. Jess Rudnick
Jessica Rudnick is a social science extension specialist with California Sea Grant. She is the co-founder of s2e and aims to build relationships between scholars, students, practitioners and activists to strengthen the social networks that work for environmental justice by monitoring conflicts, facilitating use of science to legitimize environmental justice defendants, and empowering communities that have been excluded and marginalized to be heard and prioritized in environmental decision-making.
